Will there be a pledge manager?

Yes, we will be using BacketKit for our pledge manager.

How do I use the pledge manager?

BackerKit is very intuitive and easy to use. About three weeks after the Kickstarter closes, you will receive an email from BackerKit. Just click the link and follow the instructions from there. Keep in mind, you do not need a BackerKit Backer account in order to access your survey.

Do I need to add the funds for all my add-ons to my pledge level?

No, you can pledge whichever level you’d like and when our pledge manager launches you will be able to select any add-ons you’d like. If additional funds are required you can pay that amount through the pledge manager.

Can I pledge $1 now and use the pledge manager to get a copy of Frosthaven for the kickstarter price?

Yes, a $1 pledge will allow access to the pledge manager where you can buy Frosthaven and any add-ons you want.

When will I be charged for my purchase?

Anything you pledge during the Kickstarter will be charged when the Kickstarter ends on May 1. If you order any of our existing products (colored red in the “Add-ons” section) in the pledge manager, your full pledge manager balance will be charged in July when we begin shipping those products. Otherwise, your pledge manager balance will not be charged until Frosthaven is produced and ready to freight ship from China, which should be around the end of the year.

Will Frosthaven be available in other languages?

Yes, but the Frosthaven Kickstarter is for the English version only, but we are already working with our localization partners to get localized versions of the game into the market in a timely manner (around 6 months after the English release). Are there stretch goals?

No, we’ve decided against strech goals for this project. At the scale we are producing the game, more sales don’t necessarily equate to reduced cost with the factory. Instead, we’re just giving you the best possible game we can up-front. Plus, we’ll still be making daily announcements about guest designers, contests, and a lot more throughout the campaign, so stay tuned to hear about all the awesome content you’re going to get.

Are there Kickstarter exclusives?

No, Cephalofair Games has never been about Kickstarter exclusives. We don’t want to scare you into buying something from us, and we don’t want to deny our retail customers from getting the best experience they can have. Instead, we’re simply offering you Frosthaven at a greatly reduced price with additional deals if you bundle it with other products. Some of these products, like the solo scenarios and pins, may not be available in retail, but we will still sell them at conventions and on our web store.

Is there an add-on for miniatures of all the monsters?

No, while we do agree that would be cool, it is outside the scope of what we wanted for this project. Producing 250+ miniatures to account for every monster in the game would be a massive undertaking and a huge cost to our backers as well. Gloomhaven and Frosthaven were designed from the beginning to offer players variety of content over a limited selection of plastic. We’re not saying it won’t ever happen, but for now we want to focus on the core game.

Is shipping included in the pledge?

No, shipping will be charged later through the pledge manager. See the “Shipping” section for estimated shipping rates. Also note that you may also need to pay sales tax or VAT in the pledge manager as well, depending on where you live (see the “Sales Tax and VAT” section).

The shipping cost for Gloomhaven isn't listed. Is it the same cost as Frosthaven?

Yes, the shipping for Gloomhaven is the same cost as Frosthaven.

Are there group pledges available?

No, because each game box is so large, it ships separately in its own carton, so there is no savings to be had shipping multiple games to the same location.

Can I pledge and order multiple copies?

Yes, in the pledge manager, you can order as many copies as you would like. Shipping will be the same for each box, though, since every copy will ship separately.

If I want multiple copies can I just pledge the retailer level?

No, the retailer tier is only for brick and mortar retail stores. We will be verifying everyone who pledges for that tier, and if you do not qualify, we will not refund the $30 deposit. See the “Retailers” section for more details.

Can I buy Gloomhaven or other Gloomhaven products?

Yes, we do have a selection of other Cephalofair products available as add-ons. All of these products (colored red in the “Add-ons” section) must be added to your BackerKit cart before July so we can charge you and get them shipped out in July.

Can I order just the character minis or an extra set of minis?

No, a miniatures-only pledge is not available for this Kickstarter.

Will the Banner Spear’s cards be colorblind-friendly?

Yes, we are working on the graphic design to add some iconography to the red and green hexes so the color is not the only differentiation.

Will the insert included in the box be better equipped to store the game than the one in Gloomhaven?

Yes, we’ll be working with the factory to come up with a better solution. At the very least, we will provide a plastic token tray to hold all the tiny cardboard tokens, as well as zip bags to store other things. We are also partnering with Broken Token to provide a Frosthaven organizer as an optional add-on. It will be shipped at the same time as the game, so you don’t have to wait to organize and start playing.

How many sleeves will be required to fully sleeve Frosthaven?

The exact number of cards in the game is still in flux, so we don’t have an answer at this time, but we’ll let you know in an update when we do.

Is Frosthaven compatible with Gloomhaven and/or Jaws of the Lion?

Yes, all characters can be transferred over from one game to another, enhancements and all. Just keep in mind that each game is a separate campaign, so you’ll have to form a party of new level 1 mercenaries when you start playing.

Will the removable stickers for Frosthaven be spoiler free?

Yes, you will be able to use the removable stickers from the start of your campaign and they will be packaged in a way that will keep them spoiler free.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

I’m having password trouble! - I can’t remember my password!

When you reset your password, you may need to clear your cache and temporary browsing history so that your old password is removed from your saved passwords. Next, use this link to reset your password.

You may not have an account. You can create an account by clicking the account confirmation link in any survey you have. You can also get started with signing up for a BackerKit account here.

If you have created an account and have gone through the previous steps, but are still having trouble, please reach out to us via the contact form. Let us know any important details (browser type, mobile device or computer, OS, etc).

Do I need a BackerKit account to fill out/receive my survey?

You do not need a BackerKit account to access your surveys through BackerKit BackerKit accounts help to manage and keep track of surveys and are especially helpful for folks who have backed multiple projects.

Do I have an account?

Try account recovery here.

You may or may not have an account set up, but you can access the Account Request Confirmation from the bottom of the confirmation page of any of your surveys.

How do I update my email address in my backer account?

Contact BackerKit support by signing in to your BackerKit account, and then clicking on “Need Help?” in the top right side of the page! We will ask you to verify that you are the account holder; and to provide the new email address to which you would like to update your account. You can verify by your ownership of your backer account by either of the following methods:

* Sending us an email from the old email address, specifying the new email address for your backer account.

* Sending us a screenshot of your original pledge that shows your backer number on Kickstarter (or Indiegogo, etc).

How do I delete my backer account?

While signed in to your BackerKit account, click on “Need Help?” on the top right side of the page.

If you delete your account, you will still be able to access your surveys in the future -- no account needed.

What is a backer account?

A backer account helps backers (like you!) to keep their surveys organized. Oftentimes, people who support projects that use crowdfunding support multiple projects across crowdfunding platforms. Any project that uses BackerKit will appear in your BackerKit account, and will allow you to help keep track of updates such as address, items, timelines, support, etc.
